HQ Discussion
« on: March 30, 2018, 09:41:50 AM »
The South Overlook Shelter has been reserved for June 2nd.

Anyone have comments on how HQ was ran last year? What worked well, what didn't?

Also, I'm taking food suggestions. Since I'll most likely be camping the night before, something with minimal prep work is going to be easiest. My plan is to get a head count the morning of, then once everyone has left for the farm, go to the store and pickup the majority of the food.

You may want to check with Clint for some suggestions to make things easier. Also, he has some leftover supplies from last year.

I liked the way everyone stepped up to do tech inspection and the way it was handled. I would suggest a paint mark on the windshield to make it visually easy to see who has been through tech.

Tech inspection  ran very smooth last year, window paint would help.

I haven't completely ruled out tacos, but making that happen with the minimal resources at the shelter would be tough.

Pre-cook a bunch of hamburger and rice (taco seasoning in rice).  Supply lettuce, salsa, cheese, nacho chips, taco shells, guacamole(?), seasonings(?), and hamburger buns.  You now have a taco salad/taco bar, and loose meat sandwiches (for those who don't like tacos).  Add some hot dogs, chips, baked beans, and condiments.  Something to warm up the hamburger and rice in.  Serve buffet style.

I assume this has been figured out by now. Do you folks need anything cooking wise? I won't be up in time to wheel, but can help at HQ.

I'm also seriously considering not bringing my Jeep even though I easily can tow it now.  I just get bored out there.  So if any more assistance is needed, I'm your guy.  I'm headed down to the campground Friday.
