I'll probably be hanging onto the Jeep, so will definitely make plans with you all once you get out here.  I've always wanted to do the Penrose Trails.  I want to explore more around the Buena Vista area, as I've only done Chinaman Gulch several times.  Count me out on Carnage Canyon BV;  that's a serious buggy trail where most serious buggies even winch out;  serious sketch.  Holy Cross is a huge favorite of mine as well.

I look forward to this trip coming together.

And FYI, for any not too familiar with some of the trails available in Colorado, be sure to check out TrailDamage.com for descriptions and pictures of the available trails:  http://www.traildamage.com/google_colorado.php

Also, in the Trip Reports section of this forum, I've got several write-ups of some of the better trails that I've run out here.  Most of these trails I've run several times.  May be worth checking out:

Got back about 2 weeks ago from Buena Vista/Nathrop area.  A gathering of 54 Willys, some modified, some stock gathered at a ranch about 2 miles from Nathrop.

Ran many trails, some scenic, some more difficult.

        Tincup Pass (including Old Tincup)
        Terriculum Creek
        Grizzily Lake
        Iron Chest
        Chinaman Gulch
Ghost Towns of St. Elmo, Tincup,  and  Winfield

Even a run up Mt Antero at 34 degrees and 4 inches of snow.

While waiting for the pictures to come back, try this if you need instant gratification
     Go to CJ2A page.com
Scroll down to Shows and Get Togethers Go to Colorado Fall colors Tour 2016
34 pages, most videos and pics are between pg 24 to 34
Its amazing what these 65 to 70 year old vehicles can do

Due to some timing I've got to work with, I'm targeting that last week of July.  Heather and Tristan have a camp up near Estes the 23rd-26th.  The 26th is our (choke) 20th anniversary so we're hoping to connect at Estes when they get done at camp.  If I went the week before this it could possibly work but logistics of Heather as a sponsor of the group going to camp could be a problem- if they need her to chaperone on the bus sort of thing.  If it works out to be with this group, sweet.  If I have to lean on Fjeld for connections, that's cool in my book, too.  Maybe I'll wheel less and do some trout fishing- who knows.  Keep posting up who can go when and we'll see if we can concoct some scheme for next summer...

What week work the absolute best for you Dave?  If we know that we can see who else it works for and see if it's doable...

July 22nd-30th here.  With only one driver, I'll likely do a during the day trip and leave home Sat the 22nd early morning.  Unless I could scrounge up another driver somehow...

Im good with those dates....  However I would likely leave a day earlier as I usually do.

Do these dates work for anyone else?  Or do they not work, please post up so we can start to get the planning process rolling.
